Dr Kumara K is currently working as an Assistant Professor and Researcher in the Department of Post Graduation Studies and Research in Physics at St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangalore. He obtained his Master of Science in Physics from a century-old University of Mysore in 2011 and PhD from Mangalore University in 2020 (Thesis Title: Studies on Linear and Nonlinear Optical Properties of Graphene Based Materials). He passed the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) exam in 2018. Research Area: Nonlinear Optics, Thin Films, and Crystals. Published 11 research articles in the peer reviewed journals (like Optik, Thin Films Solids, Materials Letters, Optics and LASER Technology, Materials Chemistry and Physics, Materials Todays Proceedings and Materials Research Express). More than 30 research papers were presented at the State, National and International level conferences. Attended 3 workshops namely Fabrication of Optoelectronic Devices & Sensors-Hands on Experience, X-ray diffraction and Condensed and Soft Matter Physics. Course completed from coursera on the topics namely 'From the Big Bang to Dark Energy' from The University of Tokyo and 'Statistical Molecular Thermodynamics' from University of Minnesota. He has the experience of handling the instruments like X-ray powder Diffractometer, Diode Pumped Solid State, He-Ne and Nd:YAG LASER.
